Setup IMAP email on Samsung Galaxy III – 1&1 servers

 

To set up Samsung Galaxy S3 for IMAP using 1&1 servers, do the following:

Tap Settings -Open settings and select Accounts and Sync.
Tap Add Account -On the bottom right corner, select Add account, Choose Email from the list.
Tap Account details -Enter your email account login details (email address and password), then select Manual Setup.
Tap IMAP Account -Select IMAP account.
Tap Incoming Server Settings -Enter the following details based on your actual email account.
Username : Your full email address
Password : Your email password.
IMAP Server : imap.1and1.co.uk
Port : 143
IMAP path prefix : (optional)

Click next
Outgoing Server Settings -Enter the following details based on your actual email account.
SMTP Server : auth.smtp.1and1.co.uk
Security type : None.
Port : 587
Require sign-in : checked!
Username : Your full email address
Password : Your email password.

Click next

Account Optional

Email check frequency : ( how often you want your phone to check for new emails)
Sync Email : (check this if you want sync your mailbox to your phone now)
Send email from this account by default : (check if you want this account to be the default email account in your phone)
Notify me when emails arrives : (displays a notification on your home screen for new emails)
Automatically downloads attachments when connected to Wi-Fi : (auto download attachments only when connected to Wi-Fi)

Click next

8.  Final Email Setup

Give this account a name : (account will be labelled as such for your reference)
Your name : (IMPORTANT – the name that will be displayed when your recipients receive your email)

Click Done

9.  Finish

Congratulations! You may now start using your account.
